Dear Friends of Tocco Chiropractic,
Well, we made it to Spring! As the buds and sprouts are peaking out, I think we can see the light at the end of the Winter tunnel! Hope all is well with you and your family! Some interesting news, not shocking for most of us, but nonetheless, it’s good health information that can greatly benefit you and your loved ones…
Quick tip: Pure, clean (not tap) water is still the best choice for hydrating your body, which is about 75% water! Here’s why…
A 14-year study of 60,000 people in Singapore found that those who consume two or more sweetened soft drinks per week have an 87 percent higher risk of pancreatic cancer. The biggest single source of calories in America is not pizza or burgers, but soft drinks. Soft drinks containing High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) supply just over 7% of all the calories consumed in the U.S. each year.
The consumption of HFCS has increased by more than 1000% between 1970 and 1990, far exceeding the changes in intake of any other food or food group.
A possibly toxic chemical sugar alternative made from genetically modified, government subsidized corn is the leading staple of the American diet. Aside from the obvious contribution to obesity, new research is uncovering the direct health consequences of America’s addiction to chemically sweetened soft drinks.
From the research over the last few decades, many natural health practitioners have been educating their patients on best practices in cancer reduction and elimination by detoxifying the body, limiting additional toxic exposure, and increasing overall function of body. Lastly today I wanted to share this high-tech interactive spine and nerve chart…(I love this–wish I could have had something like this years ago!) Just click and hold the mouse button over a vertebra to see which organs are served by the nerves that pass through the small opening at each spinal joint. This has been a great tool to show others how the same nerves that cause you to feel pain, also cause organs and systems of the body to function, and kids love it, too. Enjoy!
